What is the program about?
Tourism is becoming one of the largest and most rapidly growing industries in the global economy. Due to the lack of internationalized and advanced human resource in Tourism Management, developing Tourism Management discipline and fostering students to be specialized in Tourism Management are on demand in this contemporary society. Tourism Management is a comprehensive and applied emerging specialty which is a cross-discipline developed from tourism, management, economics and history, etc. The Tourism Management program at Shandong University is selected as a key unit which focuses on international development. Visiting professors from the world-renowned universities are invited to teach in the department annually. To acclimatize to the global economic trends, the Tourism Management Program commits itself to train students to become specialized experts in tourism management, who not only have internationalized knowledge, vision, management concept and work experience, but also are qualified to a senior management role and work in a multicultural environment.
How long does the program last?
The four-year Bachelor’s program will be fully taught in English and provides several different research concentrations, like Tourist Management, Destination Planning, Hotel Management, Hospitality Marketing, Event Management, etc. Upon the completion of the program, graduates will earn a Bachelor’s Degree of Management, recognized by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.
Who is eligible to apply?
Applicants should have high school diploma. Since English is the teaching medium, applicants non-English speaking shall provide TOEFL score or relevant certificate.
